  •  A car company - already existing for 90 years - makes 90 cars move around on this design. The three angels at the top represent three wellknown brands: Ford, Fiat and Mazda. The angels allow various cars to descend on earth during which they are provided with a butterfly-tie ensuring a soft landing. Once landed on the ground the cars form a column being transformed into a Ford Ka, having the Fiat 500 logo.

A lot has happened in 90 years, especially regarding technique and safety. Cars were not very economical and they were polluting our environment, hence the red cars.

We are constantly trying to make cars more economical and cleaner, which is symbolised by the red-green cars, they represent contemporary car usage. But we are evolving and the green car without any harmful gas expulsion is about to come. It moves the (red) polluting cars to the background.

Both spoke wheels and the middle wheel form a big butterfly-tie tied above a tight blouse with two buttonholes and lots of stripes. The stripes are motorways on which the customers drive their cars. For at least the coming 90 years they will come and go and help the car company to make their shift to the fifth gear.

  • Faces

    2011

You are born with only one face, but along the way people often create a second face for hiding their real emotions and feelings. This supposed protection is unfortunately also masking our genuine inner beauty. We should ask ourselves: what is the value of a beautiful soul if we are not showing it?
Community should not be a reflection of masks where one puts on a cheerful face while crying inside. And even without a mask, it will only be in exceptional cases that you see the true person.

  • In this tropical deepsea paradise, fish are no longer aware of the surrouding beauty. That is why they are searching for the golden pearls, which people say brings ultimate luck. The big yellow fish seems to have discovered the secret of the pearls, judging by its satisfying look.

  •  Life and Death bound to each other in a spiral. See how the first footsteps lead to creativity, music, luck, love, sex, life and clear thoughts that stimulate the sparkling figments of imagination. These elements are thwarted by several frightening figures among which the spider-like creature. Luck balances at the edge of Life and Death, ideas splash in the deathspiral near to the confusing labyrinth of belief, where many have lost their way already...

  •  As long as we can recall, people have expanded their boundaries. There are no more unexplored areas on this Earth and driven by curiosity we are leaving our habitat. The stars invite us for adventurous trips to the unknown hoping to find building blocks for new life. When will this ever stop and when are we going to realise that all we need is the love that is surrounding us already on our big pink planet?

  • “A monkey comes upon a small mountainside where a patch of mushrooms grow. Hungry, he eats one and embarks upon a mind expanding trip and becomes the first ‘wise man’. He contemplates the world and his place in it. One theory in mankind’s evolution is that one of the triggers that caused our ape-like ancestors brain-power to expand quickly was that they stumbled upon magic mushrooms.”

  • Deepavali

    2010

Commonly known to Hindus as the Festival of Lights, Deepavali is celebrated during the 7th month of the Hindu calendar. Deepavali celebrates the triumph of good over evil, when Lord Krishna defeated Narkansura. Oil baths are taken in the morning, before donning new clothes and paying a visit to the temple. Homes are lit with oil lamps, called vikku, signifying victory over darkness.

  • In order to survive, animals in nature are often inconspicuous because they adopt a camouflage in colours or shape. Other animals use bright colours that look toxic to deliberately stand out and deter predators. In this painting nature goes a little wild and the reality is a mystery. Are the red flowers, for example, not poison frogs? These frogs are now using their distinctive color as a camouflage! The chameleon, with a tail like a coiled fern, thinks he sees a tasty spider. But aren’t those just the veins of a leaf he sees? The yellow ladybird thinks it’s a good idea to show herself as a flower bulb, though in the meantime she has landed inside the beak of a bird… and you can see more mysteries that appear to show that nature is a bit out of balance.

  • Masked Dot

    2010

The Dot project is achieved in blood, sweat and tears. No individual Toyist received credit, as they will remain forever hidden behind their masks.

  • The house of the bottlenose Dolphin is located in the Caribbean Sea. Three playful dolphins swim around an equivalent field of complementary forces surrounded by conspecifics and colorful coral. The environment is harmonious and surrounded by happiness.

  • Birdlife

    2010

The world is more and more filled with buildings, however birdlife overall stays the same: eating, breeding, migrating South, migrating North….

  •  Why do Zebra’s have stripes? One of the reasons is that they are better protected against lions. Lions see everything in black and white and because of the stripes they can hardly distinguish the zebra’s in a group run. Can YOU distinguish them?

  • Don’t let dark clouds rule over your life, you can ensure that the darkness disappears. Positive thinking is up to you, learn to think positively. The dark clouds symbolise the negative thoughts, they seem to dominate but the positive thoughts take the upper hand, the sun breaks through the clouds and with her yellow rays she gets the attention. The two angels with their strong wings push the clouds up so that they can dissolve high in the air and make room for the positive thoughts. The red tree, that here symbolises love and warmth, lets pretty purple blossoms grow causing the cloud to develop a green heart that can only become bigger. The yellow flowers grow due to all the positive and happy thoughts and can also pass this on. If negativity appears to be getting the upper hand, ensure change yourself by way of positive thoughts. See the beautiful things that life gives us and allow only these thoughts to enter. You will then change and the positive, beautiful and cheerful will prevail… Good Luck!

  • We humans and animals are directors in our energy capsules. We give direction. We are responsible for the maintenance. We influence each other. The start and end points of the process are fixed.

  •  No matter how hard the King tries to defeat the Queen by moving his underlings around, he will never truly succeed. Here we can draw a metaphor with the eternal lack of understanding for feminine whims and the powerful way females virtually always appear to have control over the situation.

  • Free World

    2010

Has the world gone mad or are we all finally tripping out? Everywhere we see Maria Juana emerge, concealed in a spicy outfit of grass. Do we follow the example of the Netherlands and legalise soft drugs worldwide?
